Sea Salt Flush Failure

I woke up this morning at around 7:45, got on my running shoes, stepped outside into th beutiful morning air and...than went back inside. I couldn't build up the motivation to just go out and run. I tried to walk/run on the treadmill, but after two minutes, I got off.
I blame it on the fact that I'm just tired, and my body is not cooperating. I'm not giving up. I'm going to keep running, today just wasn't my day. I am going to try and get active at least a little bit. Maybe a few squats, push-ups, and a walk around the block. Other than that, I'm just going to relax.

But, the thing is, after I jumped off the treadmill this morning, I said to myself, "Screw this, I'm going to do a sea salt flush."
I didn't have a table spoon, so I guessed and poured 1/4 cup of salt into a quart of lukewarm water. Mabe it was too much, I don't know, but I have never felt so naseous in my life. I could finish, within the first 10 minutes I had a pounding headache, and after 45 minutes I threw most of it up. And no bowel movements. I think I'll just save up for a colonic, because this wasn't worth it.

I thought about doing the Master Cleanse for a while, but then realized how stupid that is. You don't eat for 10 days, save for a disgusting mixture of lemon juice, mayple syrup, and cayenne pepper. That's sick. I'll just stick to the fruits and veggies.

Today, I'm going to have a half of a papaya, some veggie soup, and a green smoothie with beet greens and a pear. Very light day.

This week I'm going to do a Veggie Feast. The only fruit I will consume is in the form of a green smoothie in the morning. Everything else is going to be veggies. This will be cake, after this disgusting ordeal I put myself through.

I really want to get in a couple good workouts this week, and this veggie cleanse will help me.

Sweet 16: Remix

Due to the fact that my Sweet 16, in January, was less than extraordinary(I was sick, surrounded by people I didn't like, I didn't have a cake, or any memorable presents...if any ayt all), my Dad made it up to me today. Even though I was only running on 2 hours of sleep from the party last night, we still went out pretty early.

First, we went shopping for clothes, like any teenage girl.

Then, we went to a vegan restaurant that caters to Raw Vegans! I was so excited. It's called The Loving Cafe, and though they only have one 'main' raw vegan dish, they also have raw smoothies, bread, and they sold kelp noodles!

The dish I got was called the "Raw Veggie Delight.' It was Kelp noodles in a cashew sauce, sitting on top of a fresh garden salad, and topped with veggies, olives and raisens. This was the fattiest thing I've eaen since being raw, and I unfortunately (or fortunately, whichever way you look at it), couldn't finish it. But, I must say, it was delicious. And Dad actually ordered a vegan meal too!
I think once a month we should head out there and just treat ourselves. I don't like eating all that fat, and I definately noticed that after my meal I was FULL, and a wee bit sleepy. So, no fats for a while. Tomorrow I'm probably going to exercise, than eat a mono meal of papaya...which brings us to the final stop on my Sweet 16: Remix...

Dad took me shopping to JUNGLE JIMS!!!

If you don't know, Jungle Jims is pretty much the biggest grocery store in the U.S., and the funnest. I really can't decribe it, except for pure imagination and creativity. It has everything, and at AMAZING deals. My own hometown grocery can't compare, and their prices are good.

I got a lot of food, and everything for only $65-70!
Here are the things I bought:

Fruit:
1 papaya
2lbs of grapes
pinapple
pears
mangos
oranges
apples
watermelon
strawberries
dates
blueberries
bananas
blackberries

Veggies:
Carrots
radishes
peppers-hot
zucchini
celery
mushrooms
beets
cucumbers
aspearagus
cauliflower
tomatoes-on the vine
grape tomatoes
broccoli
eggplant
alfalfa sprouts
spinach
kale
onions
shallots
sundried tomatoes
Kelp Noodles
Dried Seaweed
Seaweed Sheets

All of that, for only $65-70!

I'm probably not going back to the grocery store for a month!

My only regret is that I bought a raw vegan bar, I think it's called Raw Revolution. It was the Chocolate and Coconut type, and while eating it, I realized that it was only 85% Raw. That made me really unhappy, because I basically ate junk food, that didn't even taste that good. But, hey, you live and you learn.

Like I said earlier, since most of my meals were very rich and fatty, tomorrow is going to be very light.

Food Log for 5/16/09:

Breakfast: 1 orange
Since I ate so much fruit at my friends house last night, I decided to keep breakfast extremely simple. I ate the orange around 6:30, and I was very lucky, because by the time I started to get hungry again, like, actually hungry, we were headed to The Loving Cafe. I'm just proud because my subconscious wanted fruit, or just to eat, but I was satiated, and told myself I wasn't hungry.

Lunch: Raw veggie delight with a green smoothie
An absolutely delicious lunch. I wasn't able to finish it, since it was so rich, but it was awesome all the same. Dad wanted to leave, since he finishes way before me, so I ended up chugging the last half of my green smoothie. Like I said, it was still a great lunch. I think next time I go, I'm going to ask for a little less sauce...that's what slowed me down the most. I think that if I indulge in just this one meal once a month, that will be enough...actually, I KNOW it will be enough! My grandma (she's the one who encouraged me to start losing weight, and has lost mucho weight herself), indulges in a candy bar once a month, and she says it's enough. And after today, I believe her. It's not that I feel bad after eating that meal...just heavy.

Dinner: Raw Revolution bar, small box of black berries, 2 bananas, 1 date, 1 pear
I didn't want a heavy dinner after a heavy lunch, so I kept it light.

Tomorrow, I am going to run 3 miles, study for my final exams in Algebra II and Biology, and just chillax.

OH! Creativity Alert!!!
In my down time tomorrow, I'll come up with some recipes for all the food I bought.
Ahh...good plans.

I'm going to go catch up on some much needed sleep now.

Night loves!

RawSome Night

Last night was awesome. I got to connect with a bunch of old friends, make a few new ones, and I got about four hours of music burnt on a CD for me. Pretty sweet.
The house I went to had a fruit basket, which I raided of course. I couldn't really tell you how many apples I ate, but it was probably too many. But, oh well...they were delicious, and I enjoyed myself.

Food Log 5/15/09:

Breakfast: 1 organic apple and 1 orange
Pretty much the same set-up as yesterday

Lunch: Salad of spinach, grape tomato halves, beets, and mung sprouts
The sprouts really made this salad. I don't know how to describe them. They were very soft, almost noodle-like. Needless to say, I finished every bite. It was a very good salad

Post workout snack: Two organic apples
I probably shouldn't have eaten the second apple, but I was hungry. And the apples are very small.

Dinner: Very large salad of spinach, tomatoes, grape tomatoes, celery, mushrooms, carrots, and sprouts.
Just like my lunch, the sprouts really made the dish. I ate all of this huge salad, and though I probably didn't pay attention to EVERY bite, I still loved the ones I did pay attention too.

Dessert: 2 oranges and 4-5 apples
A little too much, but it was spaced out throuout the night. I thought it was strange that with all the food I ate yesterday, I didn't really get full. I wasn't too hungry either. I probably just ate that much food because it was a social setting.

Raw Running

I ran a 3k.

I ran a 3k!

I RAN A 3 EFFING K!!!

Honestly...I am amazing. Ok, it was excrutiatingly slow(people can walk fast than I can run), but that doesn't matter, because I just ran a 3k. This is coming from a girl who, a year ago, couldn't run a quarter of a mile without stopping to take a breath. My goal is to be able to run a marathon before I graduate high school. It's not just a goal...it's a DREAM! And I follow my dreams. I will accomplish this, and this 3k is just another step in that direction-the right direction.

Today:

I hung out with Mrs. Kelly

Performed a mock knee-replacemnet surgery(I got to keep the bone!)

Played an amazing game of trivia

Ran a 3k

Sang showtunes from Grease

Ate a beautiful Salad for dinner

Had a pleasant lunch

Am getting ready for my Band Banquet tonight

Food Log-5/14/09:

Breakfast: 1 organic apple and 1 orange

I Cut of the apple and put those and the orange slices in the bowl. It made it seem more like a 'meal.'

Lunch: 1-2 cups of the Italian Zuppo, Carrots, 1 orange, grape tomatoes

The Italian Zuppo was still great, but I tended to ruch while eating all my food. We ate out at a restaurant, and I was the only person there who didn't eat the restaurants food. But, I don't care. I'm healthy, and anything that Goldstar serves on their menu is horrible for me...why anyone would ever put that stuff in their bodies is a mystery. I really do wish I had more time to just enjoy my food, instead of scarf it down

Post Workout snack: 1 organic apple

I wasn't very hungry, but since I've mostly eaten veggies, and the fact that I'm going to work out again tomorrow, I need some sort of recovery food. The apple was perfect because it was small, nutricious, and delicious.

Dinner: Medium salad of spinach greens, beets, mushrooms, tomatoes, and sundried tomatoes

I love greens! It was a scrumptious salad, and I ate every bite. Again, Ishould probably savor the food more, instead of stuffing it down the hatch, but i was still wonderful

Desert: 2 of those large fruit cups from Kroger.
Maybe two was a little excessive, but the first one left my stomach in no time, so I made the conscious decision to have the other one. I'm going to drink a wee bit more water tonight, so as to aid in the digestive process in the morning.

Tomorrow I'm going to my friends for a 'non-cast party', I'm going to see if I passed the OGT, and I'm going to basically walk up a wall for a mile (kudos to whoever made incline on a treadmill).

Less than extraordinary

I woke up this morning bleary eyed and with a rash surrounding my mouth.
Concerning the rash, I have three theories:

1) I drool way too much when I sleep

2) I haven't been washing my fruits and veggies thouroughly, and it's affecting my skin

3) Allergic reaction to spiders

For the bleary-eys, I have one soultion:

I NEED MORE SLEEP!!!!

I run, and run, and run-must do this, must do that, finish everything, than you can sleep.

Well, my bodies getting sick of this. I feel really bad, so I'm going to do something smart and call it an early night. I deserve it.

Food Log for 5/13/09:

Breakfast: 2 apples, 1 orange, 1 banana
I had one apple and orange at my house, and the other apple and banana at my Gram's. I didn't need the food that I ate at my Grams. I was just tired, and my first reaction was to head for the kitchen. I'm sick of doing this. From now on, I am going to eat when I'm hungary, stop when I'm full, and really evaluate my eating habits, so I don't eat mindlessly. I want to enjoy my food, not shovel it in.

Lunch: Small salad with brocolli, celery, cauliflower (iceberg lettuce)
I didn't really like this salad, but since my school really doesn't offer raw vegan food (what a shame, due to the fact that it's just FRUITS and VEGGIES), it was all I had. I didn't finish it though. I really wasn't too hungry, probably because of my breakfast.

Snack: Some of the leftovers from lunch, 1 apple, and a few servings of baby carrots.
I had the apple when I got home from walking Roman, and the others I nibbled on while making dinner.

Dinner: Italian Zuppo
Basically, this is just vegetable soup with italian seasonings, but it was really good. I think my 'dinner' was just the testing bites I took of it, which really filled me up. If I had to guess, that would be equivelent to about a bowl. I made a lot, but I also made it for my lunch for tomorrow. I still have some left over, so I'll eat the rest on Friday.

Italian Zuppo Ingredients:
Celery
Eggplant
Cauliflower
Brocolli
Zucchini
Onion
Carrot
Sundried tomatos and its liquid
Tomatoes
Italian Seasoning
Garlic Powder

Basically, I just diced all these vegetables, and let it soak in the sundried tomato water. Very delicious.

Dessert: 1 orange
I don't think I was really craving the orange. I just wanted something that wasn't a vegetable, so I chose an orange. I read an article that you should actually eat dessert, because it tells your mind that you're done eating for the day. I must say though, that eating one piece of fruit just makes me want more, whether I'm hungry or not.

And that's something I'm going to do from now on. When I get done eating a piece of fruit, I'm going to tell myself that I don't need any more, and actually NOT eat any more, instead of sneaking in a few servings.

Ahh...so many plans, so many good things I'm doing for myself.
Even though the scale isn't telling my what I want it to, I've lost another half inch-that must count for something! I'm more than a number on the scale...I am a real person, who deserves to lose this weight, and feel great about herself!

Now, I am going to bed. Got to get myself some beauty sleep for tomorrow!

Therepy Tuesday

Food Log for 5/12/09:

Breakfast: 1 organic apple, 2 large strawberries

Lunch: Small salad of spinach leaves, 1/2/ tomato, and some broccoli

Snack: 2 oranges, the rest of the strawberries, and a serving of baby carrots

Dinner: Container of watermelon cubes, 2 apples (one large golden delicious, one large red gala), 2 cantelope rinds, 2 bunches of red seedless grapes, 2 or three grape tomatoes, and one slice of a mushroom.

I'm thinking I should even out my meals. Eat a wee bit more at breakfast and lunch, so my snack and dinner aren't jammed pack.
It's just hard at lunch, because I like eating small meals, well...I like people watching me eat small meals and lose weight. Maybe its some weird teenage pride thing...who knows.

Tonight is the Biggest Loser season finale. Even though I loathe watching t.v., I'm actually taking time out of my night to watch this. I'm pumped! Go MIKE!!!

Tomorrow is another veggie feast.
I'll probably get on the incline treadmill for a wee bit, make a soup, than get ready for Southern State.

Today, I walked a mile with the dog, ran/jog on the incline for twenty minutes, and did a few sets of push-ups.

Tomorrow is probably going to be the same, since I have a busy day ahead of me.

Raw Veggie Feast

After an emotionally turbulant weekend, and an all-out fruit binge, I decided to have a whole day dedicated to just vegetables. And I love it! I'm actually considering making this a regular part of my routine. I'm going to try and do this (Veggie Feast) on Wendsday and Friday also. That's my goal for this week.

Food Log-5/11/09:

Breakfast: Half a Cucumber

Lunch: Iceberg lettuce w/ grape tomatoes and mung sprouts

Snack: Carrots, 1 stalk celery, just a couple seeds and nuts, the rest of the grape tomatoes, and the rest of the cucmber

Dinner: 1 cup or so of cauliflower, 1 stalk celery, about 5 baby carrots, 1 tomato

Not a whole lot, but enough to keep me satisfied.

Today, I had my first meeting as President of my troupe, Walked 2 miles around my block, did the dishes, cleaned my closet and got rid of all my fat clothes, and all in all, had a very good day.
